# Claude can brief an edit from a reference video in NexLev

By Steven Van · 2026-10-30

NexLev's updated MCP docs show Claude pulling timestamped frames, then writing cuts, captions, transitions, and camera moves.

[NexLev](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/nexlev>) said on October 30 that Claude can watch a reference video and write the editor brief shot by shot, covering cuts, captions, transitions, and camera moves. The docs, updated the same day, treat that brief as a new frame-extraction job in the NexLev MCP, not a repeat of the server's launch.

Official NexLev announcement demo.

The assistant pulls stills from a public YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram video and returns them as timestamped collages. A documented prompt asks for a wide overview, then close-ups, and a brief tied to those timestamps. The frames are pictures only. They do not include speech or music. A separate tool can watch a video with audio.

Free accounts cannot run frame extraction. NexLev lists it on Lite, Premium, Niche Finder, Pro, and N8N Pro. The post does not name the tool or the plan. Collage links expire after 24 hours. Private, age-restricted, members-only, and live videos fail.
