# GPT-6 Astra now available in AI Gateway and Agent Runners

The model works through the OpenAI SDK with no API key management, and extends to Background, Scheduled, and Edge Functions.

Netlify's [Netlify](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/netlify>) AI Gateway now includes OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra model with [zero configuration required](<https://www.netlify.com/changelog/gpt-6-astra-ai-gateway-agent-runners/>). Developers can call the OpenAI SDK directly from Netlify Functions without managing API keys or authentication, since AI Gateway handles that automatically.

GPT-6 Astra is also available through Agent Runners, and across Background Functions, Scheduled Functions, and Edge Functions, each with automatic access to Netlify's caching, rate limiting, and authentication infrastructure.
