# GPT-6.1 Terra now available in AI Gateway and Agent Runners

Netlify Functions can call the model through the OpenAI SDK with no API keys, including in scheduled, background and edge functions.

OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra model can now be called through [Netlify](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/netlify>)'s AI Gateway and Agent Runners with [no configuration required](<https://www.netlify.com/changelog/gpt-6-1-terra-ai-gateway-agent-runners/>).

## Using the OpenAI SDK in Functions

The OpenAI SDK works directly inside Netlify Functions, with no API keys or authentication to manage. AI Gateway handles that automatically. Netlify's example uses the Responses API: it creates an OpenAI client with no arguments, calls openai.responses.create with the model set to gpt-6.1-terra and a text input, and returns the result with Response.json.

## Where it runs

GPT-6.1 Terra is also available across Scheduled Functions, Background Functions and Edge Functions. Netlify says these calls get automatic access to its caching, rate limiting and authentication infrastructure.
