# Google Gemini 4 Argon now available in AI Gateway and Agent Runners

Developers can use the Google GenAI SDK in Netlify Functions without managing API keys or authentication.

Netlify Functions can call Gemini 4 Argon through the Google GenAI SDK without developers managing API keys or authentication. [Netlify](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/netlify>)’s AI Gateway handles those automatically, with no configuration required.

## Use the Google GenAI SDK

The example in the [announcement](<https://www.netlify.com/changelog/gemini-4-argon-ai-gateway-agent-runners/>) creates a GoogleGenAI client with an empty configuration object, then calls models.generateContent with the model set to 'gemini-4-argon' and a text prompt. The Function returns the response as JSON.

## Available across Function types

Gemini 4 Argon is available for all Function types and Agent Runners, with automatic access to Netlify’s caching, rate limiting, and authentication infrastructure.
