# Claude Haiku 5.5 now available in AI Gateway and Agent Runners

Developers can use the Anthropic SDK in Netlify Functions without managing API keys or authentication.

The Anthropic SDK can now call Claude Haiku 5.5 directly from [Netlify](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/netlify>) Functions without developers managing API keys or authentication. The model is available through AI Gateway and Agent Runners with no configuration required.

## Calling the Messages API

The [announcement](<https://www.netlify.com/changelog/claude-haiku-5-5-ai-gateway-agent-runners/>) shows a function creating an Anthropic SDK client and calling the Messages API with the model identifier *claude-haiku-5-5*. AI Gateway handles authentication automatically, and the function returns the response as JSON.

## Supported function types

Claude Haiku 5.5 is also available across Scheduled Functions, Background Functions, and Edge Functions, with automatic access to Netlify’s caching, rate limiting, and authentication infrastructure.
