# Motion UI 4.1.0 By Steven Van · 2026-10-13 Gallery's grid and detail transitions get staggered fades, a new stagger origin for closing the strip, and four fixes for items flying in from the wrong place. Motion UI 4.1.0 changes how the Gallery component animates when switching to and from grid view, and fixes several cases where items flew in from the wrong place. The release is part of the Motion UI line that [Motion Studio]() covers, and it is listed in the [Motion changelog](). ## New in Gallery - When switching to grid, cells fade in outward from the centre on the transition's delay, for example transition={{ arrange: { delay: stagger(0.05) } }}. - The detail strip's stagger now accepts the from option of stagger(). Setting transition={{ close: { delay: stagger(0.04, { from: "last" }) } }} closes the strip from the outside in. ## Changed behaviour - Opening detail fades the whole strip in as one staggered wave, with both sides of the open item moving together. - An item that changes places without flying there now moves with its neighbours as it fades. ## Fixes - Items gather behind the active item again when switching to grid. - New options for the same arrangement, such as a ring's rotateX, blend the camera as one piece again. - Switching away from grid after paging no longer flies the previously active item off alone, or flies other items in from where they were last drawn. - Closing detail just after a change no longer flies the previously open item out of the strip. ![Motion Studio]() Motion Studio A visual timeline and AI editing agent for refining Motion animations directly on a live website.
