# Motion 14.5.0

By Steven Van · 2026-10-20

Motion 14.5.0 adds scopeMotion and useScopeMotion, plus fixes for drag direction lock, press cleanup, Reorder scroll and Activity visibility.

Motion 14.5.0 adds scopeMotion and its React counterpart useScopeMotion, which scope animations and gestures. According to the changelog, scoping can set default transitions, specify root elements, match media, and give easy cleanup. [Motion Studio](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/motion-studio>) users work with Motion animations, so the release applies to their projects.

## Fixes in the release

- **drag:** with direction lock, the move that sets the lock is now applied. Before, a fast drag released in that frame didn't move.

- **press:** cleanup of keyboard accessibility events is improved.

- **Reorder:** window scroll is no longer double-counted during a drag.

- **motion:** animations now run from the latest props when a parent Activity is made visible.
