# Motion 14.2.0

By Steven Van · 2026-10-13

Motion 14.2.0 adds hardware acceleration for independent transforms like x, y and scaleX, and a same-day patch fixes accelerated springs.

Independent transforms such as x, y and scaleX are now hardware accelerated in Motion, the animation library that [Motion Studio](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/motion-studio>) edits. The change is in [Motion 14.2.0](<https://motion.dev/changelog?lib=motion#14-2>), a minor release.

The changelog lists this as the only addition in 14.2.0. It does not say which browsers or plans are affected, and it gives no performance figures.

Motion 14.1.1 was released the same day. It fixes velocity hand-off for hardware-accelerated springs, makes cubicBezier more accurate and 2x faster, and includes fixes for Reorder and useTransform.
