# Live Text Extraction in Layers

By Steven Van · 2026-09-10

Luma Layers now extracts baked-in text as editable live text, matching it to the closest library font.

Luma's [Luma AI](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/luma-ai>) Layers tool can now pull baked-in text out of an image as editable live text, matching it to the closest font in its library. Select a layer, hit Extract, then retype, swap the font, or recompose the design without regenerating the image. The feature is powered by Uni-1.

Luma detailed the update in an [announcement on X](<https://x.com/i/status/2098063953754775937>).
