# HyperFrames v0.8.34

New guidance in the rendering docs explains why ffprobe's pix\_fmt reading alone can't confirm a WebM export lost its alpha channel.

The [HyperFrames](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/resources/hyperframes>) rendering guide now covers a gotcha in checking whether a WebM export kept its alpha channel. Seeing pix\_fmt=yuv420p from ffprobe does not by itself mean transparency was lost: FFmpeg's default VP9 decoder can produce an opaque image even from a file that still has alpha.

The [updated docs](<https://github.com/heygen-com/hyperframes/commit/78e84a9ca8de3ba490f70a065fa8e1781c7847fb>) show how to select the alpha-aware decoder explicitly before the input, then view the resulting frame over a checkerboard or contrasting background. They also suggest comparing it against the composition's PNG-sequence output, to check whether transparency was missing before video encoding rather than lost afterward.
