# Higgsfield's Reframe extends video backgrounds instead of cropping

By Steven Van · 2026-06-06

The tool changes aspect ratio by filling in new background rather than cutting into the original shot.

Higgsfield's new **Reframe** tool changes a video's aspect ratio without cropping the frame. Given a reference image, it extends the background to fill the new format rather than cutting into the original shot.

The example shown was built for Claude, reframing a clip while keeping the background intact across formats. See the [announcement](<https://x.com/i/status/2060744172957823376>) for details.
