# GPT-6.1 Sol

By Steven Van · 2026-09-29

OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Sol is a manual pick in Supercomputer's model selector, since Orchestrator stays the default, and improves coding, documents and science.

OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Sol, an upgrade to GPT-6 Sol, is now available in Supercomputer on [Higgsfield](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/higgsfield>). It is a text model for code and agentic tasks. Supercomputer uses Orchestrator by default, so GPT-6.1 Sol has to be [selected manually](<https://higgsfield.ai/supercomputer>).

Compared with GPT-6 Sol, per OpenAI:

- **Coding:** better in real codebases, and close to GPT-6 Astra on long engineering tasks.

- **Documents:** more accurate answers on complex PDFs with tables, charts, diagrams and small print.

- **Computer use:** works better with desktop apps, with results close to GPT-6 Astra.

- **Science:** stronger at data analysis, simulations and terminal work.

For the hardest research tasks, OpenAI still recommends GPT-6 Astra. To switch models, open Supercomputer, then the model selector, and choose GPT-6.1 Sol.
