# HeyGen's Batch API turns 100 videos into one request

By Steven Van · 2026-07-17

New endpoints let developers queue up to 100 avatar videos, translations, lipsyncs or uploads and get a single webhook when they're all done.

HeyGen keeps building out its API surface, and the newest addition is aimed at anyone producing video at volume: Batch APIs are live. Submit up to 100 videos, translations, lipsyncs, or uploads in one request, and instead of babysitting a hundred jobs, you get a single webhook back when everything is done.

## From loops to batches

Until now, generating 100 personalized videos through HeyGen's API meant writing the loop yourself: 100 create calls, 100 status polls or webhook handlers, plus retry logic for stragglers. The batch endpoints collapse that into one call. Per [the developer docs](<https://developers.heygen.com/batch-videos>), `POST /v3/videos/batches` queues the whole set and immediately returns a `batch\_id`; the batch covers avatar videos, image-to-video, and cinematic avatar videos, and per the announcement the same pattern extends to translations, lipsyncs, and uploads.

## One ID to track everything

Progress tracking comes in two flavors. Set a `callback\_url` and you get exactly one webhook, fired when every item in the batch has reached a terminal state, which is the right shape for pipelines that only care about "is the campaign done." Or poll `GET /v3/videos/batches/{batch\_id}` for live `counts\_by\_status` and per-item results, collecting `video\_id`s as they finish, with `limit` and `next\_token` pagination for working through large batches incrementally.

## Built for the personalization era

The 100-per-request shape maps to how AI video is actually used commercially: one template, many variations. Sales outreach with a personalized avatar intro per prospect, a course translated into a dozen languages, product videos lipsynced across markets, an ad set with fifty hooks to A/B test. Those were all possible before; batching makes them one request and one completion signal, which is the difference between a script someone runs and a feature you can ship inside a product.

It also rounds out a sprint of API-first releases from HeyGen this week alone, AI Clipping landed in the API a day later, and the HyperFrames media library gave agent-built videos free assets. The through-line is clear: HeyGen wants to be the video layer other software builds on, not just an app you visit.

## Getting started

The batch endpoints are live now, documented at [developers.heygen.com/batch-videos](<https://developers.heygen.com/batch-videos>). If you already integrate HeyGen, converting a generation loop into a single batch call is a small refactor with an outsized cleanup of your queue and webhook code.
