# Run Custom Harvey Agents Directly in Word By Steven Van ยท 2026-09-23 Custom agents built in Harvey's Agent Builder now run inside the Word Add-in, using the open document as context. Harvey's custom agents, the ones firms build in Agent Builder around their own review standards and formats, now run inside the [Harvey]() for Word Add-in rather than only in the web app. In Word, users can browse a team's custom agents in the Agents tab or @-mention one directly in a query, and the agent runs against the open document, pulling in additional files from Vault if needed. For an MSA review, for example, a first-pass review agent can flag deviations in liability caps, indemnification, termination, and data-protection terms, returning results in the team's own format. Each suggestion names the specific change and shows a preview before it's applied; applying a suggestion inserts it as a tracked change in Word, and a review thread can be reopened later instead of starting over. Agent instructions updated in the web app carry over automatically to Word, so there is no separate version to maintain. The add-in now also organizes its tools into three tabs: Threads (chat sessions), Agents (custom agents), and Library (Playbooks, Redact, Translate, Proofread, Convert to Template, and Fill Template). Custom Agents for Word is available now via the [Harvey for Word Add-in](), installable through Microsoft AppSource or IT.
