Google details six ways its Workspace Intelligence layer uses existing files and context to cut prompting in Chat, Drive, Gmail, Docs, Slides, and Sheets.

Google has published a rundown of how [Gemini](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/gemini>)'s Workspace Intelligence layer, announced in April, cuts down on prompting across Chat, Drive, Gmail, Docs, Slides, and Sheets by drawing on a person's existing files, chats, and work relationships automatically, with no setup required. - **Chat:** Gemini gives daily briefings on project updates and can search a team's secure knowledge base, though team knowledge search is coming soon for business users.

- **Drive:** AI Overviews scan files for quick answers, and Ask Gemini in Drive answers conversational questions about files and groups related documents into Drive projects.

- **Gmail:** Help me write drafts emails in a person's voice using knowledge of team hierarchy and recent project history, and AI Inbox, coming soon for business users, highlights urgent action items and project status.

- **Docs:** Gemini connects details from recent files, chats, emails, and notes into a complete, citable draft in a consistent style.

- **Slides:** Gemini checks a team's existing presentations and brand templates to generate editable slides that match existing fonts and style.

- **Sheets:** Gemini uses context from files and Workspace apps to build live, fully editable tables with native formulas.

Google says Workspace Intelligence only accesses data a person already has permission to view, does not use organization content to train Gemini models without permission, and lets administrators control which services (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or Chat) Gemini can search and apply client-side encryption to restrict access to sensitive data.
