# Gemini 3.7 Flash deprecation

Requests now route to Gemini 3.8 Flash automatically, while an older Deep Research agent will shut down on October 23, 2026.

API requests to the deprecated gemini-3.7-flash model in [Google Gemini](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/gemini>) are now automatically routed to gemini-3.8-flash. The [announcement](<https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/whats-new-gemini-3.5>) also covers migration from Gemini 3.5 Flash and an older Deep Research agent.

## Flash model migration

Developers using gemini-3.7-flash should update their model string to gemini-3.8-flash and review the Gemini 3.8 Flash guide.

Gemini 3.5 Flash is also deprecated, with requests to gemini-3.5-flash automatically routed to gemini-3.6-flash. Developers should change that model string to gemini-3.6-flash or gemini-3.8-flash and review the Gemini 3.6 Flash guide.

## Deep Research agent shutdown

The deep-research-pro-preview-12-2025 agent is deprecated and will shut down on **October 23, 2026**. Developers must update the agent parameter in their interactions.create requests to one of two newer versions:

- deep-research-preview-04-2026, designed for speed and efficiency and suited to streaming responses back to a client UI.

- deep-research-max-preview-04-2026, designed for maximum comprehensiveness in automated context gathering and synthesis.
