# Ask Gemini Is Available in Google Chat

Google Chat adds an Ask Gemini shortcut for searching Workspace data, drafting content and managing tasks in-line.

Google Chat now has an **Ask Gemini** option built into its Shortcuts menu, letting people search across Gmail, Drive and Calendar, catch up on conversations, and manage tasks and meetings without leaving the chat window.

The feature, powered by Workspace Intelligence, can also generate images or draft updates directly in a conversation, and lets users organise work into separate sessions to revisit specific topics later. It replaces much of what the Gemini side panel in Chat previously did, including finding files and capturing action items.
