# Self-hosted runner version enforcement date has moved

Runners below version 2.329.0 stop registering on GitHub Enterprise Cloud, and older ones stop running jobs, so upgrade before September 29.

The enforcement date for minimum [self-hosted runner](<https://github.com/actions/hosting-your-own-runners>) versions on GitHub Enterprise Cloud has moved. [GitHub](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/github>) says full enforcement now begins on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, instead of the date it previously announced.

The requirements are unchanged. Self-hosted runners below version 2.329.0 can't register or reregister. Existing runners below the minimum version needed to run workflow jobs, which is higher than the registration minimum, will stop running jobs even if they were registered before. Anyone who hasn't upgraded should do so before September 29 to avoid disruption to their workflows.

GitHub also points to a new REST API for runner version deprecations. It returns the registration and runtime deprecation dates for any runner version, and can be used to build automated alerts for fleets nearing their deadline.

The shift only affects GitHub Enterprise Cloud. GitHub Enterprise Server isn't impacted, and enforcement for GitHub Enterprise Cloud with Data Residency already began on July 31, 2026.
