# SCIM user responses now include a profileUrl attribute

By Steven Van · 2026-09-16

GitHub SCIM /Users responses now return a profileUrl field with the linked account's GitHub URL, when one exists.

SCIM responses for GitHub organization and enterprise users now include a **profileUrl** attribute, the standard field defined by RFC 7643, giving the absolute URL of the GitHub account linked to the external identity. Previously, matching a SCIM record to a GitHub account required extra lookups or inference; identity providers and IT teams can now read **profileUrl** directly from the [/Users endpoint](<https://docs.github.com/enterprise-cloud@latest/rest/scim/scim?apiVersion=2022-11-28>). The field is omitted when an external identity isn't yet linked to a GitHub user. Existing **userName** and other attributes are unchanged, so current SCIM, GraphQL, and identity management integrations aren't affected, and no action is required to adopt it.
