# GPT-6.1 Sol in GitHub Copilot

GPT-6.1 Sol is available on Copilot Pro+, Max, Business and Enterprise, in most IDEs, the CLI and github.com, billed at provider list pricing.

GPT-6.1 Sol, OpenAI's latest model, is now generally available in [GitHub Copilot](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/github>). GitHub describes it as suited to agentic coding and terminal workflows, with strong multistep coding performance and efficient token use. In early testing, it completed tasks using noticeably fewer tokens and steps than earlier models in the GPT-6 and GPT-5.6 families, according to [GitHub's announcement](<https://docs.github.com/copilot/reference/ai-models/supported-models>).

It is available to **Copilot Pro+, Max, Business and Enterprise** users, and is billed at provider list pricing under usage-based billing. It can be selected in the model picker in:

- Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio

- JetBrains IDEs, Xcode and Eclipse

- Copilot CLI and the Copilot coding agent

- The GitHub Copilot app, github.com, and GitHub Mobile on iOS and Android

Rollout is gradual, so it may not appear in the picker yet. Copilot Business and Enterprise administrators can manage access through the model policy in Copilot settings. Under default model enablement, new models are switched on automatically unless an administrator has turned off the global default or disabled this model explicitly.

The supported models page also lists configurable reasoning levels for GPT-6.1 Sol, available in Visual Studio Code, Copilot CLI and the Copilot cloud agent. Higher reasoning uses more tokens, so it consumes more AI credits.
