# Gemini Notebook adds Collections for organizing notebooks

By Steven Van · 2026-07-20

Notebooks can now belong to multiple collections, or none, instead of a single folder.

Google added a **Collections** tab to [Gemini Notebook](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/notebooklm>) for organizing notebooks. Rather than a rigid folder system, notebooks work like playlists: each one can sit in any number of collections, or none at all.

The feature was built in response to user requests for a way to organize notebooks, according to the [announcement](<https://x.com/i/status/2079315825119686899>).
