# Gamma 5 adds an agent and freeform editing

By Steven Van · 2026-10-08

Gamma 5 pairs an agent for planning and refining presentations with a freeform canvas for manual layout editing.

Gamma 5 brings agent-led creation and manual layout editing into the same presentation workflow. Give the agent context and visual references to help shape a complete deck, then keep refining it with the agent or take over the layout yourself.

Official Gamma 5 announcement demo.

The freeform canvas lets you move and arrange individual elements. The official demo shows the Convert to freeform action before manual placement. Gamma also describes enterprise connectors for bringing work context into a deck; this does not establish connector access on every plan.

Gamma’s launch article is dated October 6, 2026, while the supplied X announcement was posted October 8. The launch article says Gamma 5 is live for every user on every plan. That statement describes the overall release, rather than identical feature limits or connector access.
