# Framer puts its Marketplace front and center in navigation

By Steven Van · 2026-08-06

Marketplace templates, plugins and components now anchor Community with clearer categories, search and creator rankings.

[Framer](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/framer>) has reorganized how you find things in its ecosystem. The Marketplace, home to community-made templates, components, plugins, and vector assets, is now the main landing page for the whole Community area, backed by better category browsing, improved search, and direct Marketplace links in the main framer.com navigation. It is an unglamorous update on paper, but for the creators who sell on the Marketplace and the designers who buy from it, discovery is the whole game, and Framer just rebuilt the front door.

## The Marketplace becomes the front door

Previously, Marketplace resources lived inside a broader Community section, and the line between "things you can install or buy" and "people and discussions" was blurry. Now, landing in the Community area drops you straight into the Marketplace, and the sidebar has been reorganized to separate Marketplace resources from Community content cleanly. Framer says the goal is making the whole area easier to navigate and explore, which sounds minor until you have watched a new user hunt for a template through pages that were mostly community content.

## Categories move into the main navigation

The update adds a new sidebar for browsing directly by category across the Marketplace, and, more significantly for traffic, Marketplace categories are now reachable from the main framer.com navigation menu. That is prime real estate. A visitor evaluating Framer on the homepage is now one click from browsing templates or plugins, without needing to know the Marketplace exists first. For sellers, that should mean more first-touch traffic arriving at category pages rather than only via direct links and social posts.

## Search results and creator rankings get sharper

Framer also upgraded both inline search and the dedicated search results pages, aimed at surfacing the right template, component, or plugin faster. Alongside search, member page rankings were refined to better highlight creators based on their contribution levels. That is worth noting if you publish on the Marketplace: visibility on member pages now tracks how much you actually ship, which rewards active creators over dormant accounts with one lucky hit.

## What Marketplace sellers should do with this

Navigation changes reshuffle where traffic lands, and category pages just gained prominence. If you sell Framer templates or plugins, it is a good week for housekeeping: check that your listings sit in the most accurate categories, tighten titles and descriptions so they match the searches you want to win under the improved search, and keep publishing, since contribution level now feeds how prominently you appear on member pages. Buyers get the simpler half of the deal: less clicking around to find a launch-ready template, and a cleaner split between browsing resources and hanging out with the community.

The update rolled out August 6 and is live on framer.com now.
