# Framer adds Fable 5 to its agent model picker

By Steven Van · 2026-07-04

Framer says the model outscores Opus 4.8 on design evals but uses about twice the credits of GPT 5.5.

Framer has added Fable 5 to its agent model picker, alongside its existing options. Framer describes it as the most proactive model it has tested: it goes beyond the brief by setting up styles and reusing elements across a site, and produces polished first results with thoughtful finishing touches when designing from scratch. Framer also says it handles shaders and subtle animations noticeably better than models like Opus or Sonnet.

In Framer's evals, Fable 5 scored 83% overall against Opus 4.8's 77%, and led every model on design at 81%. It uses about 2x the credits of GPT 5.5, and around 3.3x those of Sonnet 5.
