# Framer brings plugins back to its CMS

By Steven Van · 2026-05-01

A dedicated sidebar view, fixed Save button issues, and Esc-to-Canvas arrive after CMS 3.0 feedback.

The [Framer](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/framer>) CMS gets plugins back, following feedback since CMS 3.0.

- Plugins now have a dedicated view in the CMS sidebar.

- The Save button issues in the item overlay have been fixed.

- Esc now returns you to the Canvas from the item overlay.

Framer says more improvements are coming, including advanced sorting options that combine primary and secondary rules. Details in the [announcement](<https://www.framer.com/updates/cms-plugins>).
