# Here’s everything from Config India 2026

Code layers, Specs and a Payload backend for Make arrive in beta, with several design system features still in closed beta or preview.

Figma launched a set of code, context and data features at Config India 2026, with availability that ranges from open beta to preview only.

## Code and context

- **Code layers:** interactive, code-backed prototypes on the canvas. They can be made by converting a design frame, importing a GitHub repo, capturing a website with the Figma Chrome extension, or prompting from scratch. Open beta, and creating and editing within a code layer is free on paid plans through November 4.

- **Specs:** a native place to bring written intent, visual exploration and technical details together for teams and agents. Open beta on paid plans.

- **Figma MCP:** faster performance and support for more Figma products. It can create code layers, edit specs, or generate images on the canvas, and now supports 20 new partners. Available now.

## Real data and content

Figma Make now natively scaffolds a Payload backend, giving an app a CMS, database, media, APIs, auth and an admin panel. Figma hosts it, so content and data sit alongside the designs that shape them. This is rolling out across all plans.

## Design systems and the agent

- **Code sources:** import code from GitHub repositories or npm packages so the agent can build and edit components and code layers that reflect a real design system. Closed beta.

- **Guidelines:** added to published design libraries to help the agent follow established patterns and avoid anti-patterns. Open beta.

- **Centralized design systems:** bundle design libraries, code libraries and guidelines into one design system. Preview only.
