# Speech Engine: 40-minute conversations: Speech Engine supports conversations of up to 40 minutes

Speech Engine conversations can now run to 40 minutes, up from the 10-minute default, and the list endpoint can sort by last update.

Speech Engine in [ElevenLabs](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/elevenlabs>) now supports [conversations of up to 40 minutes](<https://elevenlabs.io/docs/overview/capabilities/speech-engine>) (2,400 seconds). The default limit stays at 10 minutes (600 seconds).

## Raising the limit

To allow longer conversations, raise conversation.max\_duration\_seconds in the API, or change **Max conversation duration** in the Advanced tab of the dashboard. For conversations longer than 40 minutes, ElevenLabs asks users to contact its team.

## Sorting Speech Engines by last update

List Speech Engines now accepts sort\_by=updated\_at, and each summary includes updated\_at\_unix\_secs.
