# Scribe v2 Medical for Clinical Transcription

The clinical speech-to-text model cuts medical word error rate by about 35% and starts at $0.22 per hour via the API.

ElevenLabs has released **Scribe v2 Medical** through its Speech to Text API, a clinical transcription model aimed at healthcare use. In ElevenLabs' MedDictate evaluation across English, French and German, it recorded a **4.9%** word error rate, down from 7.6% for the base Scribe v2, a roughly 35% reduction. Both models performed the same on general, non-medical speech.

API pricing starts at $0.22 per hour. Enterprise use is HIPAA-eligible when a Business Associate Agreement is in place and Zero Retention Mode is enabled. ElevenLabs says clinical transcripts still need human review, since errors can affect patient records.
