# Expiring service account API keys

By Steven Van · 2026-10-26

Service account keys in multi-seat ElevenLabs workspaces can expire after 15 minutes to 90 days, set by API field or dashboard.

Workspace service account API keys in [ElevenLabs](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/elevenlabs>) can now be set to [expire](<https://elevenlabs.io/docs/overview/administration/workspaces/service-accounts>). Once the chosen time passes, the key stops working.

## Setting an expiry

Pass expires\_at\_unix when creating or updating a key, or pick an **Expire after** value in the dashboard. The expiry must be between **15 minutes and 90 days** in the future. Omit the field and the key never expires.

## Availability

Service accounts are available only to multi-seat customers, and only workspace admins can use the feature. A service account acts as a workspace member and can reach workspace resources without depending on an individual's access. Its API keys are created within the service account.
