# Java SDK v0.11.1

By Steven Van · 2026-10-12

Java developers can update Nova-3 keyterms mid-stream, handle typed server errors and exchange custom Think-provider payloads.

Active Nova-3 streams can now be reconfigured without reconnecting in [Deepgram](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/deepgram>)’s Java SDK v0.11.1. The release also adds typed server error handling and custom Think-provider messages for Voice Agent sessions.

## Change keyterms mid-stream

The sendConfigure(ListenV1Configure) method updates keyterms and formatting options on a live Listen V1 stream. Each Configure message replaces the stream’s keyterms and turns formatting features on or off through a features object, including numerals. Mid-stream keyterm updates are available only on the global endpoint, api.deepgram.com.

## Handle typed server errors

Applications can receive typed server errors through onErrorMessage(...). When no typed handler is registered, onError(...) receives a ListenV1ErrorException carrying the server error.

## Exchange custom Think-provider messages

Voice Agent sessions gain sendCustomToThinkProvider(...) and onCustomFromThinkProvider(...) to exchange custom payloads while preserving nested JSON values. These experimental methods require a custom Think-provider wss:// endpoint.
