# Start from scratch, without a repo

Cloud Agents no longer require a connected GitHub or other third-party SCM provider to get started.

Cloud agents in [Cursor](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/cursor>) no longer need a connected GitHub or other SCM provider before you can start. Selecting **Start from scratch** in the repo picker lets you prompt an agent right away, and Cursor creates a Cursor Origin repo for the work in the background.

- Once the build looks right, clicking **Create repo** saves it as a named Origin repo, set to private or internal visibility, accessible from the Codebase tab.

- Cursor now port-forwards the cloud agent's live environment to the browser, so the build can be previewed and used with tools like design mode.

- Connecting a Vercel account adds a publish option that produces a live URL for the build; a Vercel account is required to use it.
