# Cursor lets an agent set up its own automations

By Steven Van · 2026-06-21

The new /automate command configures triggers, instructions and tools from a plain-language request, building on Cursor's cloud agents.

Cursor's [/automate](<https://x.com/i/status/2067683814516858962>) command lets an agent set up an automation from a plain-language description, configuring the triggers, instructions and tools itself rather than requiring manual setup. It builds on [Cursor](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/cursor>)'s existing cloud agents, letting creators turn a recurring coding task into a running automation without leaving the editor.
