# Cursor design mode adds Annotate for visual prompts

By Steven Van · 2026-10-27

Annotate is in the Agents Window browser from Cursor 3.24.18, for element edits and drawings, and the docs do not describe the post's screen-size review.

On October 27, 2026, [Cursor](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/cursor>) added Annotate to design mode. The post says it is for visual prompts: edit elements, draw on the page, and review designs at different screen sizes.

Official Cursor Annotate announcement demo.

The design mode docs put Annotate in the Agents Window browser. Click Annotate, or press Cmd + Shift + D, then click an element, Shift-click several, or drag a box and mark it with Draw, Ellipse, Rectangle, or Arrow. Double-click text to edit it on the page, or open a CSS inspector and dictate a note. Batch edits off sends on Return, and batch edits on keeps the pins and sends them together.

Annotate needs Cursor 3.24.18 or later. Earlier builds and canvas tabs keep a pen labeled Design Mode, without in-place text editing. The docs do not mention screen sizes, and no changelog entry covers this release.
