Developers gain managed worktree tools, task pinning and transcript controls, alongside Linux and Windows fixes.

Managed Git worktrees, task pinning and new transcript controls arrive in [Codex](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/openai-codex>) 0.162.0. The [release notes](<https://github.com/openai/codex/releases/tag/rust-v0.162.0>) also cover custom model provider settings and fixes for Linux and Windows.

## Worktrees and pinned tasks

New tools create and list managed Git worktrees from trusted local projects when the worktrees feature is enabled. In the agent Command Center, pressing p pins a task to a shared Pinned group when the server supports it.

## Transcript controls and clickable links

The /copy command lets users navigate and copy transcript blocks, while Ctrl+Insert copies selections. Mouse-wheel scrolling speed can be adjusted with tui.mouse\_scroll\_speed.

URLs are now clickable in approval headers, questions, MCP prompts, warnings, banners and verification prompts, including links that wrap across lines.

## Provider settings and Code Mode

Custom Responses-compatible model providers gain configurable live web access and remote compaction capabilities. Code Mode adds JavaScript helpers that stream promise results as they settle, alongside opt-in ranked tool search.

## Platform and reliability fixes

- New terminal UI threads respect server model and reasoning-summary defaults while retaining explicit launch overrides.

- apply\_patch updates preserve existing CRLF line endings without an opt-in.

- Linux fixes address sandbox startup with multiple denied files, reject writable sandbox-construction executables and prevent ripgrep configuration from weakening deny-glob masks.

- Windows 10 regains ordinary drive-letter file access, and Windows sandbox temporary-directory permissions now match the child process environment.

- Retryable Responses and WebSocket failures honour server Retry-After advice.

- Windows releases include a signed PowerShell installer and a checksum verification fix for installations with PowerShell 7 module paths present.

Older stable releases and prereleases can no longer replace newer stable download targets or installer aliases.
