# Claude Code adds a /design command for editable UI artboards

By Steven Van · 2026-08-17

The research preview generates multiple layout options in the CLI or Desktop, then implements the one you pick.

**Claude** Code now has a /design command that generates editable artboards for a UI, built on the same artboard workflow as Claude Design. Running it produces a set of options; pick one, adjust it, and have Claude implement the result. It works in both the CLI and Desktop and is available as a research preview.
