Anthropic says it performs near the level of Claude Fable 5.1 on most tasks, costs 40% less to run than Opus 5, and generates output over 30% faster. - Pricing drops to $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens (20% less than Opus 5), with cache reads down 60% to $0.20 per million tokens. - A Fast mode for Opus 5.5 is available in Claude Code and the Claude Platform, running up to 2.5x faster at $8 per million input tokens and $40 per million output tokens. - Five-hour usage limits are increasing on **Pro**, **Max**, **Team**, and seat-based **Enterprise** plans, and subscribers now get a rate limit reset they can save and use whenever they choose. - Opus 5.5 scores highest to date on Anthropic's automated behavioral audit and ships with safeguards similar to those on Fable 5.1; vetted organizations can apply now to the Life Sciences Verification Program, with the Cyber Verification Program expanding in the coming weeks.
