# Claude Uses Your Computer in the Background

Claude can now use your computer in the background in Claude Cowork and Claude Code.

[Claude Cowork](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/apps/claude-cowork>) can now run tasks on a computer in the background, clicking, typing and opening apps while the user works on something else. The same background operation is also available in Claude Code. Anthropic [announced](<https://x.com/i/status/2095226833293685100>) the change on 2 September 2026.
