Older CLI versions skip a settings file that holds it, so the object form is best kept in files shared across versions. - MCP servers on 2026-07-28 protocol connections can now use URL-mode elicitation, letting a server ask Claude Code to open a browser-based flow. No waiting dialog is left on screen if the server has no way to confirm completion. - claude plugin validate now checks MCP server entries in .mcp.json as part of validation. - The Claude apps gateway adds **assume\_role** support for Bedrock upstreams, letting the gateway call Bedrock as an IAM role assumed via STS, optionally in another AWS account or with one session per developer.
