# Anthropic opens a discounted Claude Team plan for scientists

10,000 researcher seats are free at standard tier, with premium seats at $15/month for a year, an 80% discount.

Anthropic has opened a [Claude Team plan for scientists](<https://x.com/i/status/2093059087298601113>), offering seats to 10,000 researchers across every field. Principal investigators at academic and nonprofit research institutions sign up and add their group.

- Standard seats are free.

- Premium seats, with 5x the usage limits, cost **$15 a month** for a year, an 80% discount.

The plan follows [Claude](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/claude>) Science, launched in June, and the AI for Science credit programme. Anthropic plans to extend the offer beyond the initial 10,000 seats.
