By Steven Van · 2026-04-14

Configure a prompt, repo and connectors once and trigger runs on a schedule, via API, or on GitHub events, no laptop required.

Claude Code can now run [routines](<https://claude.ai/code/routines>) in research preview: configure a prompt, a repo, and a set of connectors once, and the routine runs on its own from there.

- Trigger a routine on a schedule, from an API call, or in response to a GitHub event

- Routines run on Anthropic's web infrastructure, so the laptop doesn't need to stay open
