# Claude API ships its first new version since 2023

Anthropic released Claude API version 2026-10-21 and plans more frequent versions. The 2023-06-01 version is not deprecated.

[Anthropic](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/anthropic>) made Claude API version 2026-10-21 available on October 21.

The Claude API has changed a lot since its last official version, 2023-06-01. Anthropic says it now plans to ship versions more often, so developers can deal with breaking changes on their own schedule before a new model requires them.

The older 2023-06-01 version is not deprecated, so existing integrations keep working.
