# ChatGPT Images 2.5 adds faster generation and precise edits

Sketch, image comments, and shareable prompts arrive alongside the Flare and Sunburst API models.

OpenAI says generation latency in [ChatGPT Images](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/chatgpt-images>) 2.5 is up to 50% lower than in 2.0. The update improves reference fidelity and keeps untouched details more consistent across edits.

- Templates, image comments, and shared prompts add ways to create and refine images.

- **Flare** prioritizes speed in the API; **Sunburst** offers greater editing precision with longer generation times.

The September 8 release is rolling out to all ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex tiers across web, desktop, and mobile. Both API models are available.
