# ChatCut launches a desktop app for human-AI co-editing

By Steven Van · 2026-08-17

The app lets editors direct Codex or Claude Code on a real timeline and exports to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and CapCut.

ChatCut has launched a desktop app that lets a human and an AI agent edit the same project. Editors describe changes in plain English and watch them applied to a real, fully editable timeline, or connect Codex or Claude Code directly to work through an editing backlog.

- Handles talking heads and B-roll, editable motion graphics, and captions in any style with translation

- Generates video, images, music, and sound effects, including Seedance 2.5

- Lets editing skills be saved and reused across projects

- Exports projects as XML to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and CapCut

Editing runs locally, so an agent works on the real timeline while the editor stays in control. See the [announcement](<https://x.com/i/status/2089335855697612968>) for more, and find [ChatCut](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/chatcut>) on Creators Toolbox.
