# Captions turns raw footage into an edited video with AI Edit

By Steven Van · 2026-05-17

A new Captions feature edits real filmed clips instead of generating video from a prompt.

Mirage has launched **AI Edit**, a feature in [Captions](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/captions>) that turns raw, unedited footage into a finished video. Rather than generating video from a prompt, it works on real clips a creator has already filmed, handling the post-production step of turning that footage into an edited result.

Mirage frames it as addressing post-production specifically, on the reasoning that for creators and business owners, filming is rarely the bottleneck: finishing the edit is. Details are in the [announcement](<https://x.com/i/status/2056374446277955689>).
