# Canva Code opens to free accounts, gets 75% faster By Steven Van · 2026-07-14 Version 2.0 also adds 50+ templates, HTML import, and lets pages be embedded in decks and whiteboards. [Canva]()'s AI code generator, Canva Code, is now open to every account tier, including free, not just paid plans. Version 2.0 also cuts code generation time by 75% and gets designs from prompt to published 30% faster than the original release. - Designs can start from a text prompt, one of 50+ new templates, or imported HTML brought in from another tool. - The generated result edits like any other Canva design: colors, fonts, images and text can be changed directly in the editor, with real-time collaboration and commenting. - Canva Code can now be created inside other design projects, including as a page, in a whiteboard, or in a deck. - Outputs resize automatically for any screen, with a mobile preview. - Publishing options include buying a custom domain inside Canva, publishing to a free domain, or sharing internally via single sign-on. Canva says its community has built more than six million sites with Canva Code since it launched a year ago. Canva Code 2.0 is available now to free, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education users, as [announced]() on 14 July 2026.
