# Canva Brush edits designs from one line to a whole deck

Pro subscribers get Brush inside Canva AI today, and Canva has not said when other plans receive it.

On October 29, 2026, [Canva](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/canva>) unveiled Brush, its first vision-language model for design, from the 160-person Canva Research lab. Brush sees a design's layout, layers, and vibe, then edits alongside you, from one line of text to a whole deck or a blank page. It arrives a week after Canva Craft, the lab's first image model, and refines the design around the image Craft generates.

## What an edit covers

Canva says editing is harder than generating, because the model has to know what should change, how the design is built, and what must stay put. A multi-page deck still needs a narrative, placed text, imagery, and consistent type, colour, and spacing. Brush writes and runs code to adjust elements, then inspects the page. Everything it makes stays fully editable, like any other Canva design.

Canva says Brush is up to 69% faster on general design editing tasks and 46% lower cost per edit task than its previous design agent. Internal testing matched or beat that setup on most tasks, especially restyling and format changes. The newsroom does not publish the test set. Brush started from a leading open-weights model Canva does not name, then was post-trained on design work with opted-in, anonymised usage and reinforcement learning. Designers on the team set what good looks like.

## Who can use it

Brush now powers supported edits in Canva AI for Canva Pro, with wider availability coming soon. Open a design, or attach or link one in Canva AI, and select Brush from the dropdown. You can keep prompting or take over in the editor. Examples include a new colour scheme or vibe, one change across many pages, and resizing a slide into an Instagram graphic. This is the first version. Brand Kit support, attachment references, and better image-heavy layouts are still in progress. No Brush price is listed beyond Canva Pro.
