# How Composio's Browser Tool Uses Browser Use to Automate Websites Without APIs

By Steven Van · 2026-09-21

Composio's Browser Tool runs on Browser Use cloud browsers, letting connected agents log in, fill forms and download files on sites without APIs.

Composio's Browser Tool now runs every task on a [Browser Use](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/resources/browser-use>) agent in a managed cloud browser, so agents connected through Composio can work on websites that have no API. Browser Use [described the integration](<https://browser-use.com/posts/composio>) in a post on how Composio uses it.

## What Browser Tool covers

Composio gives agents such as Claude, Codex, Cursor, OpenClaw and Hermes tools and authentication for more than 1,500 apps through their APIs. Browser Tool covers the sites with no API, such as a supplier portal with a login and a download button, a booking page, a government form or a checkout. An agent can log in, navigate, fill forms, extract data and download files. In the Composio catalog it appears as a toolkit with five tools: run a browser task, watch it, get a live view of the session, stop it, and download the files it produced.

## How a task runs

The Composio agent describes the job in plain language, for example "log in to the vendor portal, open this month's invoice and download the PDF". Composio calls the Browser Use task API, Browser Use runs the browser, and the result and files return to the agent, which keeps its context and moves on to the next step. Because the two sides meet at the task level, the same toolkit works for every agent Composio supports, with no browser-specific setup.

- Bot detection and CAPTCHAs are handled inside the session.

- Logins persist between tasks on a per-customer browser profile, so a user signs in once and the next task on that site starts authenticated, without credentials passing through the agent again.

- Multi-step flows such as forms, reservations and checkout run to the end.

- A live view lets a person watch the browser or take over mid-task.

- Files produced in the browser are returned to the agent.

## APIs and browser in one session

A Composio agent can enrich a lead from Salesforce over the API, check the company's registration on a state portal in the browser, and draft the follow-up in Gmail over the API. All of this happens in one session, under one identity, with auth and permissions managed in one place.

## Why Composio chose it

Composio cited three needs: volume, since tasks run in parallel in isolated cloud browsers rather than one at a time on a shared machine; sites with bot detection and CAPTCHAs; and logins that stay logged in. Sushant Hiray, Head of Solutions at Composio, said browser tasks on Composio grew 125x this year.
