# Use a skill when you create a branch

By Steven Van · 2026-10-14

Base44's create-branch box in Base Code now has a slash menu, so workspace or personal skills can go with a branch's first prompt.

Base44's Base Code now accepts skills in the create-branch box. The slash menu works there, so a workspace or personal skill goes along with the first prompt for the new branch.

The change was listed in the [Base44 product changelog](<https://docs.base44.com/changelog/product#october-14-2026>) for October 14, 2026. The announcement does not say which plans get it or how skills are chosen beyond the slash menu.
