# Revert a message on a branch

By Steven Van · 2026-09-07

Reverting on a branch now creates a new commit on that branch alone, leaving main unchanged.

[Base44](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/base44>) has added a Revert option to version history on any branch you can write to. Reverting restores that branch's checkpoint as a new commit on the branch itself, so main stays untouched. Editing and resending a message still applies to main, as before.

The change is part of Base44's [September 7 update](<https://docs.base44.com/changelog/product#september-7-2026>).
