# Redirect rules can point to any external URL

By Steven Van · 2026-08-01

Base44's custom-domain redirect rules can now target external URLs, not just internal paths.

Redirect rules for a custom domain on [Base44](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/base44>) can now point to a full external URL instead of only an internal path. That means something like /ads.txt can redirect to a feed hosted elsewhere. The change is described in the [August 1 changelog](<https://docs.base44.com/changelog/product#august-1-2026>).
